To Thine Own Elf Be True... Why Our Elf On A Shelf ROCKS & How We Can Bring Him Back for New Years!
I paid NO attention to our Elf On A Shelf, Sprinkles, for two years worth of Christmases.
For those first two years Joe quietly moved him from shelf to shelf, or honestly – he didn’t.
In fact, I thought his name was Sparkles.
This year EVERYTHING changed. I became wholly and completely enamored with the concept of taking our little buddy on a few weeks’ worth of BIG adventures.
I’d like to say I do it for the kids, but that’s only part true. I’m obsessed. I’ve spent hours on Pinterest, investigating what the best of the best have done with their elves.
I’ve brainstormed with my husband, sister, mom and friends for new ideas.
I’ve worked hard to come up with something that has NOT yet been hashtagged on Instagram (I think I have one success so far: ELFCATRAZ!).
Elfing is exactly as magical as it sounds, if you want it to be.
Now in the spirit of total and complete Christmas truth telling: we did not bring Sprinkles down from the attic – I mean the North Pole – until December 5th-ish.
Luckily the world reminded us pretty quickly. You basically can’t miss this elf madness unless you are literally living under a shelf.
Now for the amazing part!
I’ve come up with a way to keep the Elf magic around until AT LEAST New Years’ Eve. You can order a letter RIGHT HERE from YOUR elf to your child (and you too!). It will arrive right after New Years with a thank you for working so hard to stay on the nice list and a reminder to keep working hard because Christmas will be back again before you know it.
Here is an excerpt from the letter:
…But soon I’ll get back to my work
Each year there’s MORE to do
And before you even know it,
I’ll be back to check on YOU!
Promise to be extra good
From now until December.
Keep my letter somewhere safe
To help you to remember!
But what makes this really special?
A portion of the money from all sales of this item will be donated to Samaritan’s Purse.
For over 40 years, Samaritan’s Purse has worked tirelessly to the aid of the world’s poor, sick, and suffering. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love.
At Christmas time, Good Samaritan packs shoeboxes filled with gifts for children in need, to ensure as many children as possible receive gifts on Christmas day.
Here is where you can snag a letter from your Elf by way of the ElfMailCo.
Be careful when you open it…there will be glitter!
